Supporting Corrugated Board Artist Katsuhiko Hibino

In 1982, Mr. Katsuhiko Hibino made a sensational debut in Japan's contemporary art scene when he won the Japan Graphic Exhibition Grand Prize with his artwork using corrugated board as a material, receiving enthusiastic support from young people. Today, as President of Tokyo University of the Arts , he not only guides students, but is also active in a wide range of fields beyond corrugated board art, including stage design and public art. In recent years, he has also been actively conducting unique initiatives that can be described as social engagement. These include workshops held across Japan that incorporate regional characteristics and invite participation from the general public. Through these efforts, he promotes not only the creation of artwork, but also human connection, regional revitalization, and support for young people through art.
