Past Initiatives
In 1909, founder Teijiro Inoue became the first in Japan to commercialize corrugated packaging. He named it Danboru, or corrugated board, marking the beginning of the business. Since then, corrugated packaging has continued to expand its role as an environmentally friendly packaging solution due to its high recycling rate.
Today, in addition to its role as packaging material for transporting and protecting products, corrugated packaging is increasingly required to function as promotional packaging that conveys product appeal at retail stores and in e-commerce. Development is also progressing in functional corrugated packaging with features such as water resistance, cooling, and freshness preservation.

Outlook
Demand for packaging that reduces environmental impact and addresses social issues such as labor shortages is expected to continue growing. Rengo is also working to secure human resources through the creation of safe and secure workplaces, while advancing the development and introduction of labor-sabing and efficiency-improving equipment.
