Environmental Education Provided to Raise Employee Environmental Awareness

Rengo is advancing initiatives to enhance the environmental awareness of individual employees as it pursues Eco Challenge 2030, a set of medium-term environmental targets revised in April 2025.
One such initiative was the provision of environmental education at paperboard mills across Japan from June 2025 to March 2026 through collaboration between the Environmental Management Department and related departments within the Paperboard Business Unit. Training sessions were held to explain current environmental issues, such as global warming, biodiversity, and plastic pollution of the oceans, as well as the responsibilities of corporations and the latest environmental targets.
The same content was also covered in training carried out at Head Office in February 2026 for assistant managers and supervisors from corrugated plants to promote knowledge among frontline leaders.
Participant feedback indicated a change in awareness, with some recognizing the importance of each employee being conscious of environmental improvement as they work toward the targets, and others acknowledging how even stable operations and productivity enhancements can lead to environmental improvements.
Rengo will implement ongoing educational activities that will enable all employees to proactively address environmental issues.
