Outreach Classes Conducted (FY2025)
EnvironmentApril 6, 2026
Since 2010, Rengo has been conducting an environmental education program called the "Corrugated Packaging Fun Classroom" based on the theme "Corrugated packaging is recyclable―it’s not waste."
The program is designed to convey the appeal of corrugated packaging to children who will lead the next generation, providing a fun way to learn about the secrets behind its strength, its active role in various fields, and how it is recycled. Additionally, in the area surrounding our Takefu Plant in Fukui Prefecture, we conduct an educational program called "Wonders of Cellophane," which focuses on the cellophane manufactured at the plant, and teaches students about the differences between cellophane and plastic.
In FY 2025, we conducted 12 outreach classes (on-site educational programs requested by elementary schools) on corrugated packaging and cellophane, with a total of 625 elementary school students participating.

・It was great to learn about the unique characteristics of corrugated packaging, which is something I did not pay much attention to in the past. From now on, I will take a closer look at it.
・I learned that corrugated packaging has many uses and is also recycled.
・I was surprised to learn that corrugated packaging is so sturdy. I never would have thought it could be used as a bed. Thank you for coming to teach us today.
Comments from Participating Organizations
・The content of the session, which covered the strength of corrugated packaging, the origins of its name, the recycling process, and the concept of a resource-circulating society, aligned well with what third-grade students are learning about recycling.
・The session heightened my awareness about the reuse of corrugated packaging.

Helping children discover the way our products contribute to society through fun, hands-on experiences enriches their learning. It also motivates the Rengo employees who lead these classes to continue teaching and learning. In the future, we will continue to support childhood learning through these initiatives while also promoting our environmental efforts and the appeal of our products.
