Rengo Wins Japan Packaging Contest 2026 Awards
Rengo Co., Ltd. announces that it won nine awards in seven categories of the Japan Packaging Contest 2026, sponsored by the Japan Packaging Institute, as described below.
The award-winning products are scheduled to be displayed at the Good Packaging Exhibition 2026, held as part of TOKYO PACK 2026—Tokyo International Packaging Exhibition 2026—at Tokyo Big Sight from October 14, and will also be on view at Rengo’s booth.
Japan Star Award (Director-General's Award, Manufacturing Industries Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)
Spin It Green! An Eco-Friendly Paper Capsule: eco-Pon
This recyclable capsule is made from biodegradable paper-based material.
Made primarily from pulp and starch, the capsule does not generate harmful substances when incinerated, thereby helping to reduce its environmental impact.

Open the Same Way, with Less Effort: Liner-Cut-Free Corrugated Case
Rengo developed a new zipper design to solve partial tearing and cut-edge appearance issues when opening 24-can cases for beer and other beverages.
The wave-shaped zipper line improves the appearance of the case after opening while also reducing deformation during case assembly and warehouse storage. In addition, the case can be opened with less force without requiring any changes to the conventional opening procedure.

Versatile Assortment Box: Two-Tier Box
This gift package for an assortment of kamaboko (Japanese fish cakes) combines a modern aesthetic with a sense of occasion.
Thin corrugated board wraps around two stacked inner boxes, which are intentionally left visible from the top and sides, creating a multi-layered wrapping effect. In addition, Rengo's proprietary "Bright Press" embossing technology gives the package a premium feel through its visual appeal and tactile variation.

Chupa Chups Flower Bouquet
Designed to resemble a bouquet of colorful lollipops, this package makes a delightful gift.
The bouquet's base was changed from plastic to corrugated board. It can be assembled easily without adhesive and is designed for easy recycling after use. The package is both environmentally friendly and visually appealing.

Eco-Friendly Hanging Container for Shoshuriki NOTE (for Closet)
The hanging container was redesigned using a paper-based material instead of plastic.
It can be assembled without glue or stickers. The container features a cylindrical structure that allows the fragrance to diffuse naturally, achieving both functionality and environmental sustainability. The fragrance beads are made using Rengo's spherical cellulose particles, Viscopearl.

Plastic-Free & Labor-Saving! Retail-Ready Fruit Box
This corrugated tray is designed for fruit.
Previously, high-sided corrugated trays had been difficult to assemble by machine. By revising the structure, they can now be assembled using an automatic tray-forming machine. This improved production efficiency and enabled mass production of corrugated trays. The tray was recognized for its ability to support high-volume retail displays.

This tiered stand is designed to display and sell drip bag coffee.
For easy in-store assembly, the stand incorporates a one-touch design that simultaneously forms all 12 display shelves and support tabs. Its single-piece structure reduces material use, and its flat-packed design helps lower transportation costs. The stand was recognized for cost efficiency, ease of assembly, and transport efficiency.

Open-Air Flow! Package for Danone BIO
This package incorporates air holes that also serve as opening slots, ensuring excellent ventilation.
The flaps on all four sides of the case were intentionally designed to be shorter so that cold air can circulate throughout the package, ensuring adequate ventilation while reducing material use and lowering costs. The opening slots are shaped for easy finger access, enabling intuitive opening.

S'z Keep: A Small "z" Makes a Big Difference!
Rengo developed a feature that allows corrugated board to retain its shape after being folded.
It facilitates the assembly of shipping boxes or the use of corrugated board as cushioning or partitions, helping to streamline packing operations and reduce workloads. In addition, the protrusions formed at the folded portions are designed with a smooth, rounded shape, making them less likely to injure worker’s hands or damage products.
