    Rengo Wins Silver Award at Pentawards 2018 Worldwide Packaging Design Competition

    Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; Chairman, President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that the company has won a Silver Award in the “Fruits and vegetables” section of the Food Category at the Pentawards 2018 worldwide packaging design competition.

    The Pentawards, held annually since 2007, are known as the world's most prestigious competition for all aspects of packaging design. This year, the award ceremony was held on September 6 in New York, the United States. This is the seventh time Rengo has received an award.

    Rengo's award this year was for the revamped design of corrugated boxes used by Ibaraki Prefectural Headquarters, National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations (ZEN-NOH) (JA ZEN-NOH Ibaraki: Ibaraki-machi, Higashiibaraki-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan; President of Ibaraki Prefectural Headquarters: Mr. Osamu Kawatsu) for shipping agricultural products. The aim of the design is to establish the brand image of Ibaraki Prefecture as the second largest agricultural prefecture in Japan in terms of amount of agricultural production. The design, which is based on the concept of “Agriculture makes you smile,” is simple and friendly and incorporates the desire that agriculture which brings smiles to the faces of consumers and producers, regardless of age or gender, will continue into the future.

    The value of a product is enhanced through its packaging. The Rengo Group, and its Design and Marketing Center in particular, will continue contributing to customers’ product development, sales promotion and image enhancement by offering creative designs and comprehensive packaging solutions.
