Rengo Wins World Packaging Organisation's WorldStar Awards for Two Products

Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; Chairman, President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that it has won WorldStar Awards for two products at the 2018 WorldStar Contest, hosted by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
The two products, which are detailed below, were also prizewinners at the Japan Packaging Contest 2017. Winning the WorldStar Awards demonstrates that their usefulness has been recognized globally.

White Belg Roll Over Stocker Box, an award-winning item

This imaginative corrugated box holds eight cans of White Belg beer. It can be placed as it is in the refrigerator and used as a can dispenser.
Cans are dispensed from the lower row and replenished from the upper row. When a can is dispensed, the next can in line rolls down, so ensuring that consumers can always drink chilled White Belg.
The shape of the lid has been designed to withstand impact during transportation, while the packaging can be easily opened in a single action simply by tearing off the perforated strip.

White Belg Roll Over Stocker Box

Package for Ecocute (hot water storage tank), an award-winning item

This corrugated board outer packaging is both environmentally friendly and cost effective, while also boasting sufficient strength.
In order to reduce the amount of corrugated board used, the packaging covers only the minimum area necessary. Meanwhile, the ruled lines on the corrugated board used for the front and rear sides are made using a special cutting process that reduces resistance when the corrugated board is folded. This ensures that the folds are at 90-degree angles to make packing easier.
Improvements have been made to the packaging shape. The quality and type of the packaging materials used has been carefully and comprehensively selected, taking potential manufacturing problems into account. This has led to reductions in the overall amount of corrugated board used, resulting in a more rational, optimal product.
