Rengo Subsidiary Settsu Carton to Construct Shin-Tokyo Plant
Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; Chairman, President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Settsu Carton Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Itami-shi, Hyogo Prefecture, President: Toshio Niwa) has commenced construction of its Shin-Tokyo Plant (Kawaguchi-shi, Saitama Prefecture).
Settsu Carton was considering renovating its now aged Tokyo Plant (Yashio-shi, Saitama Prefecture). However, it was decided to construct and move operations to a new plant at a substitute site because the small area on which the original plant is located presents difficulties for building reconstruction and infrastructure renewal while continuing operations.
The ground-breaking ceremony was held on April 30, 2015. The plant, which is planned for completion in August 2016, will be reborn as a cutting-edge environmentally-friendly plant, through initiatives such as photovoltaic power generation facilities.
While aiming to continue to strengthen its corrugated packaging supply system in the Kanto region into the future, the establishment of the new plant will enhance the swift response to customer needs, deliver further improvements in product quality, and enhance the Rengo Group's corrugated packaging business.
