Rengo Wins the World Packaging Organisation's
WorldStar Award for its Corrugated Packaging
    for LED Ceiling Light Equipment

Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that it has won the WorldStar Award in the WorldStar Contest hosted by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) for its “corrugated packaging for LED ceiling light equipment,” which was jointly developed with Lighting Device & Fixture Corporation.

The WorldStar Contest is an annual contest hosted by the WPO, which was established in 1968 and is the only international organization in the packaging field. The objective of this contest is to judge packaging from all over the world regarding factors including their ease of use, design, and environmental friendliness, and to raise awareness of and promote packaging technology of excellent quality. Rengo's corrugated packaging for LED ceiling light equipment was chosen as a WorldStar Award-winning item from among 316 entries. This product also won the Electric Equipment Packaging Category Award in the Japan Packaging Contest 2012.

This corrugated packaging uses corrugated cushioning and securing material that combines resource-saving and ease-of-assembly. By fan-folding corrugated board and layering several sheets together, any item contained is securely protected from external shocks during transportation. By effectively using the portions of material that was until now disposed of as waste, Rengo succeeded in maintaining the equivalent cushioning performance of conventional corrugated packaging while drastically reducing the usage of material.

Through its packaging technologies that are friendly both to people and the environment, Rengo strives to fully respond to the needs of customers for value-added packaging.
