Rengo Subsidiary TRICOR Packaging & Logistics Installs Solar Power Generation System

Rengo Co., Ltd. announces that its consolidated subsidiary, TRICOR Packaging & Logistics AG, decided to install a mega solar power generation system associated with approximately 14,000 solar panels. The system will be able to generate electricity at a capacity of 5.6 mega-watts and will be placed on the roof of the headquarters’ plant and the adjacent plot secured for expansion in Bad Wörishofen of Bavaria State, located in Southern part of Germany.
TRICOR Packaging & Logistics has been considering the installation of a solar power generation system at its headquarters plant over the years in respect to the environment. The solar power generation system is expected to run in the second half of 2023 and be able to reduce more than a thousand tons of CO2 emissions per annum. The installation of the large-scale solar power generation system matches Germany's environmental policy which encourages the utilization of renewable energy and also aligns with Rengo's Eco Challenge 2030 target to reduce CO2 emissions by 46% compared to FY2013.
In addition, the off-grid power generation system reduces natural gas consumption, which is important as the price of natural gas in Europe is rising rapidly. The diversification of TRICOR Packaging & Logistics’ energy supply sources is considered to be integral to the sustainability of its manufacturing.
The Rengo Group will continue to maintain the stable supply of packaging materials and actively pursue initiatives to reduce its environment impact.
