Rengo Fukushima Yabuki Plant Wins “Chairperson's Award of the Japan Greenery Research and Development Center” from Factory Greening Award Program

Rengo Co., Ltd. announces that its Fukushima Yabuki Plant won the “Chairperson's Award of the Japan Greenery Research and Development Center” for FY2022 from the “Factory Greening Award Program” (commonly known as the National Award for Factory Greening).
This award program has been implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) since 1982. It aims to recognize factories with excellent green initiatives and other factors in order to raise factory greening awareness and promote understanding of its importance.
The Fukushima Yabuki Plant, which has approximately 9,000 solar panels installed, began operation as an environmentally friendly corrugated plant in 2010.
On the site, a thicket that has existed since before the plant was built is being preserved as the “The Hyakunen Grove” (The Hundred Year Grove). In addition, a “biotope” has been established to maintain the biodiversity of the area, and efforts have been made to develop and manage the greenbelt environment. High evaluation of these efforts led to Rengo winning this year's award.
Rengo will continue to proactively engage in harmonization with the local natural environment and communication with local communities.
