Japan Star Award (Director of General, Manufacturing Industries Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Award)

・Easy Sealing with Shipping Slip “FukuLock”

This is a significantly improved corrugated box with a 0215 top and one-touch bottom.
It simplifies packing work, reduces packaging costs, which increase along with the distribution amount, and appeals to end users with high environmental awareness. By developing the flap structure to improve closing operability and reducing the area of materials used, it can not only reduce cost and CO2 emissions, but also saves space and enhances disposability when folded.

・Grab and Quick Open!: V-Link Zipper

This is an inner carton used for consolidating products such as confectioneries, retort food pouches, and jelly pouches with spouts. Anyone can easily open the carton in a second.
Grabbing and pressing the opening on the back side of the carton creates a V-shaped structure that applies an opening force to both sides of the box, which makes it easy to open properly with little force. The opening is located near the top so that anyone can easily grab it and apply force regardless of hand size. The point is its perforation; the rounded cut edge after opening the carton prevents one from hurting their finger when touched and provides a good appearance.

Packaging Technology Award (Appropriate Packaging Award)

・Appropriate Packaging Design for EcoCute Tanks

This packaging was designed to accomplish two things; to improve protection and to reduce the amount of packaging material used for 2.2m high 80kg products.
By effectively placing the pillar cushioning support to enhance protection in the specific areas that require the most strength, assembly becomes easy; all you need to do is insert cushioning supports into slots on the outer corrugated box. This innovation reduced the amount of packaging material used and CO2 emissions.

・Soda Flavor Konjac Jelly Carton Box

The design of the outer boxes was revamped together with the redesign of product packaging. This is a corrugated box that has high recognizability and high environmental friendliness.
The design was made more prominent by changing from the conventional brown linerboard to the environmentally friendly Smart Eco White (SEW) containerboard developed by Rengo using 100% recovered paper. Recognizability was improved by applying lively animal illustrations.

・Hammock Style Packing for Bird Perch

This is a net cushioning material made from corrugated board for a Binchōtan charcoal nail trimming perch for birds.
By placing the product and wrapping it, the cushioning sheet fits around the product with its net structure. Legs stick out from the four corners to keep the product suspended inside the corrugated board, achieving excellent packing operability and cushioning. The design is made to reduce environmental load by using only corrugated board, without using any other cushioning materials.

    ・Reversi Board

The outer box is printed with designs on the inside so it can be used inside-out as a sales promotion board in retail stores.
The in-store workload was reduced by changing to an outer box that is also a POP board. The board itself was also designed to improve strength so that it does not warp. Compared to before, it can reduce the amount of paper used by approximately 53% and transport costs by approximately 25%.

・Swell Prevention with “Stepped Intermittent Double Crease Lines”

This is a corrugated box with a shape that can limit swell and buckling of the box due to extreme weather during summer.
By reducing the contact area of the ridges of stacked boxes and shifting the intermittent double crease line which distributes the load to the sides, it was possible to limit the swell. This was achieved without using higher grade materials or increasing the area used compared to the original design.

    ・Resource-saving Vic-Tray

This is a tray for fruits and vegetables with greater strength that saves resources by improving the design without using higher grade materials or increasing the area of materials used.
    (1) By using curved crease lines on the bottom of the tray, the corners support the load, reducing load on the panels of the long side which buckle easily. (2) The shape of the inner flaps were designed to support the uprightness of the long sides.

    ・Ajipon Quick Open Shipper

The design was changed from opening via tear tape to opening by perforation to achieve a shelf-ready packaging that saves work time and enhances its appearance.
With well-considered perforated pitch and crease lines to assist smooth opening, it achieves both impact resistance and easy opening.
In addition, B flute is used instead of A flute for the corrugated board, improving transport efficiency during delivery. It also mitigates environmental impact due to the reduced corrugated medium. Unique colors and catchphrases are used for the outer package to express each product's great taste.
