    3. Reason for revisions

The worldwide economy deteriorated rapidly due to the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in autumn 2008, followed by temporary but significant decreases in the prices of various types of raw materials and fuel including crude oil.
In such circumstances, Rengo revised (lowered) the standard prices of its paperboard and corrugated boards/boxes in April 2009.
Afterward, the prices of raw materials and fuel including crude oil, which had temporarily experienced a drastic decline, rose once again along with the recovery of the global economy. In addition, the export price of old corrugated containers (a major raw material) continued to be at a high level.
In response to price increases for various types of raw materials and fuel, Rengo has worked diligently to improve productivity while giving constant consideration to saving resources and energy, and has also strived to increase production efficiency and cut expenses. However, Rengo announces the recent revisions to its prices of paperboard and corrugated boards/boxes in order to continually ensure their reliable supply, while also enhancing product quality and environmental conservation efforts.
