Rengo Wins WPO WorldStar Packaging Award for
Hybrid Car Battery Pack Corrugated Box

WorldStar Packaging Award logoRengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that it won a WorldStar Packaging Award for a hybrid car battery pack corrugated box, that it jointly developed with Primearth EV Energy Co., Ltd., in the WorldStar Competition run by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).

The WPO, founded in 1968, is the sole international organization for the packaging industry. Its annual WorldStar Competition calls attention to and promotes excellence in packaging by recognizing packaging from around the world based on ease of use, design, environmental performance and other factors.

The hybrid car battery pack corrugated box was chosen as a WorldStar Award winner during selection in Istanbul, Turkey, out of 278 entries from 30 countries, after previously winning a Large-sized Equipment Packaging Category Award in the Japan Packaging Contest 2010. The box dramatically improves work efficiency by requiring only one worker on the packing line instead of two and shortening packing time from three minutes to one minute. Furthermore, development of glue-less fixing materials and standardization of packing procedures have contributed to reduction of packaging material costs.

In caring about people and the environment, this is another example of how Rengo's expertise delivers solid support to customers in the form of value-added packaging.
