Rengo Selected as a Semi-Nadeshiko Brand for FY2016

Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; Chairman, President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that it has been selected as a Semi-Nadeshiko Brand for FY2016. The Nadeshiko Brand initiative is jointly conducted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) to recognize listed companies with an outstanding record of encouraging women's success in the workplace.

Inaugurated in FY2012, this year the Nadeshiko Brand initiative has established a new Semi-Nadeshiko Brand category, which selects companies that have the potential for future growth regarding the encouragement of women's success in the workplace. Rengo was selected as one of these Semi-Nadeshiko Brands.

At Rengo, we established a "Section for the Promotion of Women Employees” in April 2014, and we have since engaged in the creation of a corporate culture and environment that better enables women to showcase their talents. In March 2016, we formulated the "Action Plan for Women's Advancement," and announced "Information regarding Women's Advancement." We have increased the proportion of women in our workforce by focusing on promoting the employment of women and expanding the range of their work. At the same time, we have been working to create a workplace that it is easy for employees of all genders to work in.

We believe that we have been recognized as a company with the potential for future growth due to our proactive initiatives to encourage women's success in the workplace, as well as our management capabilities to maximize diverse human resources and our abilities for self-reform in order to cater to changing environments.

At Rengo, we intend to continue to consider innovations in working methods and further accelerate initiatives related to the encouragement of women's success in the workplace. We intend to promote the creation of a workplace in which each of our employees can work in a fulfilling manner and maximize their individual talents.

    FY2016 Nadeshiko and Semi-Nadeshiko Brands

METI and TSE scored all 3500 enterprises listed on the TSE based on two factors: [i] conducting career support for women and [ii] supporting women in balancing work and family. METI and TSE then selected 47 enterprises across all industries for the FY2016 Nadeshiko Brand and a further 25 companies with the potential for future growth regarding the encouragement of women's success in the workplace as Semi-Nadeshiko Brands.
