The award ceremony took place at the RISI Asian Forest Products Summit held in Shanghai, China, on June 22.

RISI Inc., headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, conducts research on and provides information about the global forest products, paper, and pulp industry. Each year, RISI presents an award to the Asian CEO whose corporate performance over the past year stands out from their peers in the eyes of an independent panel of experts including investment analysts and portfolio managers.

Since becoming President of Rengo in 2000, Mr. Otsubo has greatly expanded the Rengo Group's business scope and has also played an extremely major role in reforming the structure and mindset of Japan's entire paperboard and corrugated industry. Recognized for these achievements, he is the first Japanese CEO to receive the award.
