Rengo Wins Four 2013 Japan Package Design Awards
Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that it has won four awards in the Japan Package Design Awards 2013 sponsored by the Japan Package Design Association (Office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumi Sasada).
Founded in 1960, the Japan Package Design Association is the only Japanese entity specializing in the packaging design field. It aims to increase the quality, usage, and awareness of packaging design, and to contribute to Japan's quality of life and culture as well as industry development. The Japan Package Design Awards sponsored by the association have been held once every two years since 1985. Professionals that specialize in the packaging design field take part in this competition, which judges work design and creativity. The award-winning products are chosen via strict judging of around 1,000 entries. A major characteristic of these awards is its evaluation from a packaging designer's viewpoint; focus is placed on packaging materials from the angles of manufacturing, logistics, environmental impact, and other factors, as well as quality of design and contribution to the value of goods.
Japan's packaging designs are said to be of the top rank in the world, and are highly praised in Europe, the United States, and Asia. Therefore, winning the award in this competition can be considered tantamount to having a packaging design of the world's highest standard.
Packaging design must instantaneously relay a message about the value of the product contained inside, and also generate interest and empathy. The Rengo Group, and its Design and Marketing Center in particular, will continue contributing to customers’ product development, sales promotion and image enhancement by offering comprehensive design and packaging solutions.
As a “General Packaging Industry” (GPI), Rengo seeks to become a comprehensive packaging provider that actively proposes solutions to fulfill all the packaging needs of various industries through continual innovation. Rengo accepts these awards as encouragement to continue creating new value in packaging.
