Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that Vina Kraft Paper Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Binh Duong Province, Vietnam; General Director: Chalokeporn Phalajivin), its joint venture containerboard mill in Vietnam, will now begin full-scale operation following completion of the mill’s construction.

Vietnam has experienced rapid growth in domestic demand for corrugated packaging for foodstuffs and other daily commodities, and is expected to see further strong annual growth of around 10% in the future.

Meanwhile, Rengo is progressing, through Thai Containers Group Co., Ltd., with the acquisition of New Asia Industries Co., Ltd., a corrugated board manufacturer located in Ho Chi Minh City. This will allow Rengo to offer an integrated production system in Vietnam, from paper manufacture through to corrugated board processing, in order to meet the vigorously growing local demand. The acquisition will also allow Rengo to make Vietnam a key location in its business strategy for Southeast Asia, further enhancing the company’s overseas business foundation.
